Expertise, Role and Activity
BIORIDIS is a biotech company specializing in nucleic acid analogues to develop new assays for nucleic acid analysis (NA) and gene therapy. The company has overcome existing technological barriers to develop an innovative assay for advanced NA analysis: LIVELMIA platform. Leveraging this platform, BIORIDIS is developing innovative quick and easy assays for detecting antimicrobial resistance (AMR) mRNAs. In BactEradiX, BIORIDIS contributes by supporting the design and development of artificial oligonucleotides required for antibiofilm and antibacterial activity.
PI: Andrea Tortori
Andrea Tortori, PhD, has significant experience in the design, production and in vitro testing of nucleic acid analogue probes for antigene-based gene therapy, with an international patent as inventor. Andrea’s role in BactEradiX involves implementing the analysis of eDNA in biofilms (WP2), designing and developing the anti-ZDNA artificial oligonucleotides (WP3), advancing the antigene approach (WP5) and optimizating of the nanoplatform (WP6).
